Q: Can I bury the tank?

A: BURYING POLY RAINWATER TANKS (GUIDE ONLY)

  1. YOU MUST SEEK AN ENGINEERS ADVICE REGARDING YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION.
  2. As a guide only we recommend that you do not bury your tank anymore than 1 metre into the ground.
  3. You must dig your hole 300mm (12”) wider than the base diameter of your tank. If two tanks are to be buried side by side then separate holes must be dug.
  4. Prepare tank base as per our INSTALLATION AND TANK BASE PREPARATION REQUIREMENTS.
  5. Completely fill tank with water first then backfill the hole with compacted cracker dust and cement powder. Compact 75-100mm (3-4”) at a time. We also suggest that you erect a fence for safety reasons around the tank. Backfill Ratio = 3 parts cracker dust to 1 part cement powder
NOTE: The above instructions are a guide only. We advise that you seek an Engineers advice for your particular situation before attempting any of the above. Incorrect installation will result in Warranties being made void.

Q: What comes with the tank?

A:

Q: What about the plumbing fittings?

A: Plumbing fittings for you to decide on:
You may choose an outlet and gate valve up to 50mm, the overflow and strainer are supplied as a standard size for all tanks.

We will fit the strainer, overflow and brass outlet valve or tap to your tank at the factory, you can advise us of your preferred position for all these items by simply using a clockface (download Diagram [PDF]). Please advise if you need any extra fittings or gate valves. All other plumbing work to and away from the tank are the responsibility of the purchaser.

A: Prepare Access for Delivery:
Please note that our truck and trailer is big – 5m (16’6”) tall, 3m (10’) wide, 18m (60’) long or truck only – 9m (30’) – and needs a lot of clear access. Please check gates, roads, roundabouts, crossings and overhanging trees on your property so that we can deliver your tank without damage (access permitting). Inaccessible sites (man power required):
Our driver will need help to unload your tank from the truck, if the truck and crane cannot reach delivery area. Please ensure persons are available to assist at time of delivery. If assistance cannot be provided then hire or use of any equipment is at purchaser’s expense. ie crane hire, 4wd tractor hire, backhoe hire, front end loader hire etc.
